The SRV watch draws its inspiration from the Art Deco era, which developed in the 1920s. This era is characterised by geometric shapes and abstract motifs, which became a dominant style in architecture, interior decoration, fashion and graphic arts. While the SRV is directly inspired by a 1975 model, this design was itself a reinterpretation of earlier Tissot creations dating back to the 1920s.

More than just a name, SRV stands for Saphir Rectangle V: a faceted sapphire crystal with a rectangular silhouette, and the “V” a nod to its water resistance of 5 bar.
