The new exclusive True Star Sign collection from the Swiss watch manufacturer offers twelve individual diamond-tipped watches, one for each zodiac sign. The True Star Sign collection of high-tech plasma ceramic watches combines the beauty of modern watchmaking with the mystery of the cosmos. These timepieces seem to come from another star. Powered by an automatic movement, the 30 mm True Star Sign features four diamond indexes and a blue mother-of-pearl dial inspired by the starry sky. The dial symbolises the popular Chinese folk tale of the cowherd and the weaver girl. The folk tale describes the love story between Zhinü, the weaver girl who symbolises the star Vega, and Niulang, the cowherd who symbolises the star Altair. It is depicted with shimmering diamond dust and tiny star-shaped appliqués. The True Star Sign case is crafted from one of Rado’s signature materials: high-tech plasma ceramic. Rado uses cutting-edge technology to treat the finished white ceramic components in a special plasma furnace. In this process, the molecular composition of the ceramic is altered by gases activated at 20,000°C, so that its surface takes on a warm metallic sheen — without the use of any metal. Like other Rado high-tech ceramic watches, the True Star Sign also benefits from the material’s advantages and is extremely lightweight, scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic.
